They say any publicity is good publicity in Hollywood. In the wake of the Kim Kardashian sex tape, there were rumors spreading like wildfire on the Internet that Kim is now dating Marques Houston. When photos of Kardashian and Houston at LAX airport surfaced on the Internet last week, gossip columns went mad with suspicion.
Kardashian was signed on as the spokesperson for Christopher Brian clothing earlier this year. Chris Stokes and Marques Houston (who have been rumored to be ‘more than just friends’ for years) formed the clothing line together and brought Kardashian on board earlier this year to help boast sales.
Hollyscoop has learned exclusively through very reliable sources that not only are they NOT dating, but they were in fact on their way to a business trip to NYC to meet with executives about the line, and there also were about 5 other people with them at the airport that were conveniently left out of the paparazzi shots.
After Kardashian was hired, Marques went on various TV shows such as 106 & park on BET to promote his upcoming album 'Veteran,' which was released just days after the NYC business trip. When asked about the track ‘Kimberley’ on his album, Houston claimed that the song was written about his girlfriend Kim. When asked if it was Kardashian, he casually laughed it off which lead to media speculation of a hookup.
This isn’t the first time a rapper has tried to ride Kardashian’s coat tail, a week before the rapper Game’s album was released he asked Kardashian if he could attend Paris Hilton's album release party. He asked to be photographed with Kim only to have the photo released to media outlets with the suggestion that they were now dating. Kardashian and Game had actually been friends for years and she had even introduced him to his ex-fiancé.
Surely this must seem like a case of déjà vu for Kardashian, but when you’re currently the ‘it girl’ of Hollywood, everyone wants their turn for their 15 minutes.
