The same week that she announced her divorce from Kris Humphries, Kim Kardashian sat down for her first live TV interview.
Kim appeared on an Australian morning show to promote her handbag collection, along with her sister Khloe. In case you had any doubts this family was over obsessed with money before, this should confirm it.
Hen asked whether she gave her two-month marriage a chance and got counseling, Kim replied:
"I think when you know so deep in your heart that you just have to listen to your intuition and follow your heart, there's no right or wrong thing to do," said Kardashian. "I didn't want to disappoint anyone but I had to follow my heart."
I'm pretty sure if you look deep in Kim's heart, you'll find a commercial for the Kardashian Kollection.
On the show, Kim remained pretty emotionless for someone who's going through a divorce. And, of course, the conversation went to money:
"From the start there have been so many rumors of money and dollar signs thrown up into the air," Kim said. "'This much and this much and this much.' And so much of it not being true, so it's kind of what you get living your life so publicly on a reality show."
I'm not sure if anyone's buying that. Actually, I'm not sure if anyone's buying anything the Kardashians are saying these days. Even after announcing the divorce, they've been making it clear that there's really nothing more to them than promoting and branding. Kim described her life in the spotlight as "a double edged sword. It's hard to go through right now and I'm glad I'm out here to get my mind off things."
"I just wanted to stick with my commitment to come out here to Australia," Kim continued. "I love our fan base out here and of course I do want some time to myself, it's a really tough thing to go through but I didn't want to bail on everyone and kind of skip out on this commitment here."
Khloe chimed in: " She's being really strong and Lamar and I are here to be her support at this time."
There's been reports surfacing now that Kim and Kris fought about the prenup negotiations. According to TMZ, sources say Kim and Kris were fighting during the negotiations, mostly about how much Kris would get of the wedding-generated money.
"It was really apparent then," a source said. "This marriage wasn't going to last, and even they could see it wasn't a good idea."
I, for one, can't wait for Kris Humphries to get out of the Kardashian clusterf-ck and tell the world what really happened.
