For most people, getting engaged means having to save for months to afford a decent wedding that includes, at minimum, some chicken fingers and Ikea candles.
But not for Kim Kardashian. For Kim, getting engaged means what anything else she does in life means: a massive payday.
Seriously, companies will pay her a million just to think about Sketchers Shape Ups.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kardashian sold her engagement photos to People for a whopping $300,000. While the issue reportedly sold below its average, a spokesperson for People as well as a rep for Kardashian didn't comment.
Maybe people are too busy trying to afford their mortgages. The entire Kardashian family earned $65 million last year, raking it in from Kourtney's pregnancy and Khloe's marriage to LA Lakers forward Lamar Odom.
Kourtney sold a pregnancy package for $300,000 to Life & Style magazine. The mag got: the pregnancy announcement, sex of the baby, birth announcement, first baby photos, and post-pregnancy body photos. Life & Style also declined to comment.
Khloe sold her wedding photos and announcement to Ok! Magazine for nearly the same price. And of course, she's still making money off of her wedding with her ongoing reality series.
And if that's not enough, the couple had custom invitations and Khloe's 9-carat engagement ring donated for the affair. Although, Kim's 20-carat ring makes Khloe's look like a fruit loop.
Kim plans to take Humphries' name, but Kris Jenner thinks her daughter is making a mistake.
"She needs to be Kim Kardashian because she’s worked so hard to get where she is."
But it's the woman, not the name, and I'm pretty sure Kim will take the fame with her when she becomes Kim Humphries.
