In attempt to show she does indeed have emotions, Kim Kardashian has cancelled her remaining time in Australia.
Kim had promotional engagements throughout the weekend in the country, but she decided to cut things short, planning to fly home to the U.S, with Khloe in tow, on either Thursday or Friday.
Kim appeared on a live Australian talk show on Wednesday to promote some stuff and talk about divorce. Despite her heartbreaking split from Kris Humphries, Kardashian originally decided to suck it up and sell some purses.
Well, it turns out, she's too sad after all. Kim is telling friends she's so "distraught" over the divorce, that she cancelled the rest of her Aussie gigs. According to TMZ, Kim is saying:
"I need to take care of me now, and I can't work for awhile."
Here's how the word 'work' is defined in the Kardashian dictionary, by the way:
work (werk). n. 1. Showing up somewhere, holding a bottle of QuickTrim, and smiling while you try to draw as much attention to your butt as possible.
You know, just in case you're more familiar with the traditional definition.
One of Kardashian's gigs in Australia included an appearance at the Melbourne Cup Carnival for Swisse Vitamins marquee on Saturday. She was supposed to be paid $150,000 for showing up. Kim cancelled, releasing the following statement:
"I am very disappointed that I am unable to attend the Swisse marquee but I hope to come back and work with the Swisse team at another point in time."
She probably got $10,000 from them for just mentioning their name in the statement.
A spokesman for Swisse vitamins added: "All indications were that Kim wanted to fulfill all of her commitments once she landed in Australia but has obviously changed her mind given her very difficult personal challenges at the moment."
In her interview Wednesday, Kim explained why she decided to visit Australia despite her 72-day marriage ending.
"I love our fan base out here. Of course I do really want some time to myself and it has been tough. But I didn't wanna bail on everyone and, you know, skip out on this commitment."
Kim didn't mention Kris Humphries' name once during the interview. I mean, she gets paid hundreds of thousands to mention stuff, you think she's gonna do it for free now that they're not together?
And because they're not completely unabashed about selling out, the Kardashians' will reshow their wedding special on Thursday. Suzanne Kolb, president of E! Entertainment, gave a cut-and-dry explanation for why they're re-broadcasting Kim's Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event:
"We are a topical network and this is a topic at the moment."
