Only Kim Kardashian could turn heads by not showing up to an event.
When Kim was a no show at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala in New York City on Monday, rumors ignited that the reality star was getting shunned from the fashion world.
Kardashian was reportedly banned from both the fashion event and from appearing on the cover of Vogue magazine.
A rep for Kardashian addressed claims exclusively with Hollyscoop.
“That is absolutely ridiculous,” said the rep. “She was not able to be in NY due to her schedule.”
The rep did not respond when asked to confirm whether or not Kim was actually invited. Vogue has told Hollyscoop that they have no comment if an invitation was extended.
According to Radar Online, the rumored ban came from the Gala’s host and editor of Vogue Anna Wintour. Reportedly, she does not care much for the Kardashian.
“Anna hates Kim,” a source told Radar. “Why would she be invited to the event? It is all the biggest stars in the world and Kim doesn’t fit that bill at all.”
For the price of a 2012 Mini Coop, celebs could score a ticket to the red carpet, but the source continued their nasty spree claiming Kim couldn’t even buy her way in. They also predicted Kim’s response.
“Kim and her camp will deny that she wasn’t invited by saying that she had business in L.A., but that is a lie,” the source said. "She would of done anything to be there with all the A-listers."
But who wouldn’t want to be at the event?
Among the names on the A-list list were Gwyneth Paltrow, Beyoncé, Jessica Alba, and Kim’s new man Kanye West.
It sounds like Kim really might have been sent away from the cool kids table for the first time in her life.
