They said they wouldn't be releasing Kiefer Sutherland early, and Glendale Police have stuck to it. They've announced they'll be releasing him on Monday, which is 48 days on the dot. Kiefer went to prison on December 5th, and Glendale police promised they wouldn't let him out early. Still, Monday must seem like a year away when you're in jail.

TMZ is reporting that despite his good behavior, Kiefer Sutherland will not be getting out of jail early. Not everyone's as lucky as Nicole Richie and Michelle Rodriguez! Kiefer is on laundry duty at the prison, and has made no complaints whatsoever. But stay tuned, because the Jack Bauer in him is probably plotting a secret escape through the laundry chute.

Happy birthday, Kiefer! Even though he's probably not too happy right about now. Kiefer's 41 today, and I'm sure these are not the "bars" he had in mind for today. Kiefer Sutherland decided to take advantage of the writers strike and book himself early. He was arrested at 5:46PM and booked 16 minutes later. He is set to serve 48 days in jail.

24' star Kiefer Sutherland has asked the judge to let him serve his 48 days in a private jail instead of the county facility. Sutherland will serve his 48 days at the Glendale City Jail and has until the end of March to complete his sentence. Sadly he's probably only going to serve like 20 days because he's a celeb.

24' star Kiefer Sutherland was officially charged with a misdemeanor DUI charge, according to the Los Angeles city attorney's office.
