Kyra and Kevin have been happily married for 23 years, and they have two children together. But they recently discovered that they’re distant cousins.
They can thank the Sunday night PBS show, ‘Finding Your Roots.’ The program uses DNA searches and is hosted by Harvard scholar Henry Louis Gates, Jr.

I long for the days of Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. But these are the current Hollywood stars that are true triple threats.
Julianne Hough: She proved she can dance with her breakout role as one of the pro ballroom dance partners on Dancing With The Stars, she parlayed that into a film career, appearing as a dancer with a couple lines of dialoque in the Christina Aguilera starring film "Burlesque." Now Hough is a full fledged Hollywood starlet, she's starring in the new Footloose remake. She's also a singer. The former ballroom dancer released her self-titled debut album in 2008 which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Country Album charts.

Kevin has been in so many big movies including Mystic River, Frost/Nixon, but the one role we always remember him for is Footloose. Playing a villain would definitely be a different character than the happy musical.
X:Men is turning out to be a promising movie with its all-star cast including James McAvoy (Xavier), Caleb Landry Jones (Banshee), Alice Eve (Emma Frost), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), and Lucas Till (Havoc).
What do you guys think of Bacon playing the villain? You think he could pull it off?
"X-Men: First Class" will be in theaters on June 3, 2011.

Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon were just one Hollywood couple who fell victim to the scam. The two have managed throughout their careers and marriage together to stay out of the tabloids for the most part.
In fact, Kyra recently told the Boston Globe, "I think the interesting thing about it was that I always thought, `We're so boring. We should be in the tabloids more. C'mon honey, let's have a scandal.’”
Guess you should be careful what you wish for! Kyra and Kevin were duped out of a lot of money, but they’re not open to telling how much.
Kyra went on to say, "Well, it wasn't the truth that we were destroyed. And I think when you say `no comment,' that's, of course, where they're going to go, because it's fun and it grabs headlines and people will be more interested."
Nevertheless, they feel like they were taken advantage of. Kyra told the paper, "It's been really unpleasant and makes you feel really vulnerable. But the fact of the matter is that we did not lose everything. We lost hard-earned money that we worked very hard for that was what we thought in a safe place. It's painful but a lot of people lost a lot more. And we have a lot of things to be grateful for in our life, and we never ever forget that."
That’s probably the best attitude to have about it! At least Kyra and Kevin are still able to work and make money! So many people who fell victim to the scam lost their entire retirement funds! So it’s god to see that they see the silver lining.

Honoree Kevin Bacon spoke with Hollyscoop.com at the Kenneth Cole Black Party to let us know that Gen Art “inspires him as a film maker.”
He says, "It is so exciting to share something with a really young, super hip audience.”
Kevin also shared his “love for film festivals, in general”. He says, “I think they are always just a great opportunity to inspire the artistic side of something that is often so commercialized. You have to keep pushing the envelope. Film festivals are the place where that happens.”
Celebrities like Kevin Bacon, Kyra Sedgwick, Nick Cannon, Eliza Dukshu, Andie MacDowell, Emily Vancamp, Denise Richards, and Jeff Daniels all came out to celebrate.
These events were part of Gen Art’s long-term commitment (and part of its 15th Anniversary) to promoting, showcasing, and building awareness for emerging independent artists.

Bacon and his wife were among the many many victims of the Bernie Madoff’s Ponzi scheme. They reportedly lost $50 million dollars. That's not exactly pocket change--even for a celebrity.
Speaking to Life & Style magazine, Bacon admits he "didn't see it coming" but added that he'll "march on. We have to. There's nothing you can do about it. You can't change what happened. Things could be worse. You remember that, and you go on with your life."
When asked if he has any projects in the works Kevin replied: “I don’t have anything lined up right now, but I need to work, for obvious reasons.”
Someone get this guy a job, at least for the sake of his ego. His wife was just nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series at Sunday's Golden Globe awards and he can't even find work. Footloose part II anyone?

He was caught after many of the people who invested money with him asked for it back due to the economic crisis. Many people fell victim to the Ponzi scheme, including celebrities.
It’s just been confirmed that Kevin Bacon and wife Kyra Sedgwick are among these people. And this is no pocket change we’re talking about. They’ve reportedly lost $50 million.
Their rep Allen Eichorn said in a statement to New York Magazine, “Unfortunately, your report is true. I can confirm that they had investments with Mr. Madoff — no further specifics or comment beyond that. Please, let’s not speculate or rely on hearsay.”
Kevin and Kyra aren’t the only celebrity victims to the Ponzi scheme. Steven Spielberg, his DreamWorks Animation SKG partner Jeffrey Katzenberg, and Uma Thurman's fiance, hedge-fund tycoon Arpad Busson, are on the list of high-profile investors who reportedly lost hundreds of millions of dollars.
So sad! But at least Kevin is still working and Kyra has her hit show The Closer to fall back on!
