Is the pop songstress turning her duet with her longtime boyfriend into a permanent fixture?
Kelly Clarkson isn’t just debuting her new single “Catch My Breath” this week, she’s also unveiling her future plans to settle down. In a recent interview, the “American Idol” vet admitted that she plans to tie the knot with her current partner and son of her talent manager, Brandon Blackstock.
During an appearance on “On Air With Ryan Seacrest,” Kelly admitted that marriage was in the back of her mind even before they even were a couple.
“We met years ago when I was working with Rascal Flatts, and he used to tour manage with him," Kelly said about Brandon. "I didn't really know he was [my manager's] son and it was kind of weird.”
When they finally crossed paths, Kelly was interested right away, immediately wanting to get to know Brandon, who grew up in the same town as her. And the more she learned, the more she liked…
“I was like, 'Oh we're so getting married' I was so that girl! When he became single, I was on the prowl," she told Ryan.
But hang on to your breeches, readers… In terms of wedding bells in the future, we might have to hold off for now. Kelly admits that the couple is taking things one step at a time.
"We're taking it slow, and we're enjoying each other,” she said. “I'm from a family of broken marriages, but we will definitely break that trend one day."
And finding her other half has certainly affected her music, but in a good way...
“It makes you comfortable as an artist and it makes you more confident,” she said.
Kelly’s single “Catch My Breath” hits iTunes stores on October 15.
