I wish I could tell people the reason for my awful haircut is that I’m getting into character, but I don’t see that working.

Celebs, on the other hand, have the luxury of blaming their changing looks on the colorful roles they take on. And because stars are called out for every flaw, sometimes getting a bad haircut—or even shaving it all off—can be liberating. Other times, it leaves them feeling like the lead singer of a 90s punk band, and they opt for extensions. Here are 10 celebs and the bad haircuts they got for movie roles.

Natalie Portman: When Natalie Portman was filming V for Vendetta, her long, beautiful locks were chopped off during filming. In a single shot, the one-take-wonder had her natural hair shaved-off while the cameras were rolling, and she was in character crying.

Javier Bardem: Javier Bardem’s Dora The Explorer haircut in No Country for Old Men was so bad, it left the actor depressed.

Costar Josh Brolin claimed: “[Javier] was depressed during the process…he felt like he wouldn’t have sex for three months. Full-blown depression. I mean, bad.”

Everyone is either breaking up or getting knocked up. Keira Knightley and her longtime boyfriend have decided to call it quits and claim the split is "mutual." Don't they always?!

Keira and Rupert Friend called it quits around Christmas after five years together. That's more than most Hollywood marriages!

Keira's father Will Knightley told The Sun newspaper: "Yes, they have broken up. But that's the way things go, unfortunately. I've spoken to her recently. The only option is to get on with things.

"They were together for quite a long time and it is always hard breaking up. She's focused on her work."

They met on the set of 'Pride and Prejudice' back in 2005 and started dating shortly after. Apparently Keira's fame was a huge issue in the relationship.

A friend said: "Rupert hates the idea of being followed or photographed. Keira partially had to accept it because of her rising profile. It affected the harmony in the relationship. The pressure on such private people took its toll and both decided they should go their separate ways. They will remain life-long friends."

That explains why Keira has been so MIA the last couple of years. Time to get back on that horse girl!

Finally, they’re making a big screen movie about the life of Princess Diana!

There are two big named actresses being considered for the part of Diana. Both Scarlett Johansson and Keira Knightley have been in talks for the role, but it looks like Keira might take the part.

Film company Pathe has already started working on the project and are keen to get Helen Mirren to play Diana’s mother.

“There’s a buzz about this. Pathe also made The Duchess, which starred Keira as Georgiana, the fifth Duchess of Devonshire — the great-great-great-great aunt of Diana — and controversially used an image of Diana to trail the movie.

“They believe that footage made the film a big hit in America where Diana still has a loyal following. They think Keira will be perfect to play Diana.

The movie titled, Diana will reportedly hit theaters next year, just in time for what would have been Diana’s 50th birthday.

Who do you guys think will be a better Diana? Scarlett or Keira? Or would you rather see an unknown play the Princess of Wales?

Keira Knightley may be at the top of her game, but critics still refuse to accept her as a respectable actress.

Keira talks to Elle for their March issue about criticism of her acting skills, the importance of honesty in her life, and hew upcoming roles. Here are some highlights from the interview:

On criticism of her acting skills:
"Oh, they still say that! Every time I do an interview with the English press, one of their questions is, 'How do you feel knowing that everyone thinks you're a s*** actress?'"

On surrounding herself with people who tell her the truth:
"You have to be selective about the people whose advice and opinions you take. I know [my parents] would never tell me I was s*** because they were trying to hurt me. It would always come from a very sincere place."

On her other upcoming film "Last Night":
"When we were making it, the arguments on set were just amazing about whether mental infidelity is better or worse than physical infidelity. There was a huge gender divide on the question. Every single woman said that mental infidelity is 10 times worse than [an emotionless assignation]. And most men I spoke with said that it's the physical act that would be the ultimate betrayal."

On her character in The Misanthrope:
“Jennifer’s kind of a crazy mix of being a complete bitch—confident and terrifying—yet she’s incredibly young and is probably being exploited way more than she actually realizes.” On criticism of her acting skills: “Oh, they still say that! Every time I do an interview with the English press, one of their questions is, ‘How do you feel knowing that everyone thinks you’re a **** actress?’ ”

On surrounding herself by people who tell her the unvarnished truth:
“You have to be selective about the people whose advice and opinions you take. I know [my parents] would never tell me I was **** because they were trying to hurt me. It would always come from a very sincere place.”

Keira Knightley is planning on shedding her clothes and posing nude soon, but unlike celebrities her age, Keira's doing it in the name of art.

Keira has reportedly been visiting London’s Halcyon Gallery to be painted naked by artist Mitch Griffiths for a new exhibition.

A source said: “It’s considered a great honor to be painted by Mitch. He is a highly respected nude painter and is painting as number of subjects for a new exhibition next year. He is delighted Keira decided to take part.”

Keira's one of the most beautiful actresses of her time, so we're sure it's just as big of an honor for Mitch as it is for Keira. We'll keep you guys updated with the portrait as soon as Miss Knightley sheds her clothes.
Johnny Depp will be making bank on the upcoming Pirates Of The Caribbean movie!

According to the Sun, Depp will receive $30 million to reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow for the fourth sequel in the franchise.

When he shoots Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Johnny will become Hollywood’s highest-paid actor. It places Depp ahead of Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks and Mel Gibson, who get around $26 million a movie.

This sequel will lose a couple of their main characters; both Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom have opted out of starring in the film. But Geoffrey Rush will return to play Captain Barbossa, and we also hear Penelope Cruz may be the female lead.

Also confirmed on the film is Rob Marshall, who confirmed recently that he’ll be directing. He recently said, “Ya know, it’s something that I was offered, and never in the world thought I would do but then I was like ‘why not?’… I’m doing ‘Pirates of the Caribbean….” According to the AICN report, Marshall also mentioned that he had met with Johnny Depp, and that they are both excited to work together.

A source says, “The movie will feature flashbacks to Jack’s early life.” Pirates 4 comes out in theaters Summer 2011.
This ought to make you jealous. AOL’s Moviefone just compiled their annual list of their top 25 stars who happen to be under the age of 25. And just hearing what they’ve accomplished in a quarter of a century will make you want to quit your day job.

Making the list this year are newcomers like Freida Pinto and her Slumdog Millionaire co-star (and rumored boyfriend) Dev Patel. And then there are the old stand-bys, like Miley Cyrus, Shia LaBeouf, and Scarlett Johansson.

Regardless of being new or old to the list, these “kids” have established themselves in Hollywood, apart from all the thousands of other young actors in LA.

The real vets of the list are Rob Pattinson, Megan Fox, Michael Cera, and Keira Knightley.

The question is…do they have the staying power to make the next inevitable jump for the best 30 under 30? Check out the list here, and check out these hot Hollywood youngens!
Looks like Orlando Bloom’s days of being a pirate are over! He’s reportedly done playing his role of Will Turner in the Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise, after already having starred in three of the films.

A source tells News of the World, “Orlando loved the films but thinks it’s time to bow out because they tied up nicely for his character. The producers are okay with that because they want to concentrate on the new adventures of Johnny Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow.”

And Orlando isn’t the only one wrapping things up. Earlier this year, Keira Knightley announced that she will not be returning to the hit franchise to reprise her role as Elizabeth Swann, insisting her “pirating days are over.”

Keira said, "It was a completely fantastic experience, and it was an amazingly large portion of my life, but I don't think I need to go there again. I think that it's done. But I'm very excited to see the next one. And [Johnny Depp] is so wonderful in that character. I think it'll be wonderful."

So now it’s just up to Johnny to carry the next film! Director Jerry Bruckheimer says the 4th installment is being written as of right now, and they have a “whole new way of going” for the film.
