Russell Brand and Katy Perry must've seriously thought their marriage was going to last, because the two didn't get a prenup. I mean, I hate to be a naysayer, but this was a risqué but evangelical pop princess and, well, Russell Brand. They should've been required to get a prenup.
But they didn't, and Katy is reportedly worth a whopping $44 million, and Russell is now entitled to half of that amount. But here's the thing: he doesn’t want it.
Brand reportedly wants the split to be as amicable as possible, so that means saying 'no' to a massive fortune.
"This divorce is as amicable as it gets, and Russell was a mensch (Yiddish for a good person)."
I mean, you gotta commend the guy for his decision, but at the same time, it's going to take a lot of college campus tours to make that kind of money.
Recent reports have surfaced that Russell has started dating again already and is seeing multiple women. Sources said that Katy was told that Russell moved on from the marriage from her friends.
One source revealed: "She discovered through her friends. One of the women told a friend of hers and it got back to Katy."
Meanwhile, amid rumors that Russell has been sending "flirty" texts to Katy Perry lookalike Zooey Deschanel, Zooey shut those rumors down, saying: "I don't even know him by the way."
“On the scale of truth and completely preposterous — it’s completely preposterous," Deschanel said.
