The “E.T.” artist is singing a new tune today: “Eat my chips.”
Katy Perry is the newest investor and celebrity endorser for Popchips and today we get a glimpse at her very first billboards. While she skipped Ashton’s racist Indian look, the images were not void of a little raunch…
“Nothing fake about ‘em,” the ad reads.
In the photo, the pop princess holds up a pair of original flavor bags in front of her breasts with an “innocent” look on her face, as if to say, “come and get ‘em boys!”
Text on the ad goes on to quote Katy:
“I’m not into phonies. Good thing there’s nothing fake or phony in popchips. They only taste like they’re bad for you.”
She appears in other ads as well, which regrettably have far less sexual subtext. There’s a red, workout version and a green, guilt-free version.
On the advertisement are the slogans, “Love. Without the handles” and “Spare me the guilt chip.”
The cleverness of the these “quotes” seems to insist that the singer who once asked the question “Do you ever feel like a plastic bag?” in her lyrics might had a little help with the taglines… But, without proof, we’ll have to give Katy the benefit of the doubt for now.
The ads are set to hit the public this weekend…
Joining the ranks of fellow celebs like Ashton Kutcher, Heidi Klum, and Jillian Michaels, Perry became involved in the chip company in July. Her participation ranges from being a face of the company, to a minority investor, to an ambassador… whatever that means.
Popchips last made headlines with their previous billboards when Kutcher mistakenly thought he was still funny and decided to dress like various personalities, including an Indian named “Raj” that oozed with racism and pissed a lot of actual Indians off.
