Hollyscoop was on the red carpet for the
7th Annual Hollywood Life Breakthrough of the Year Awards on Sunday, where we got the chance to speak to “Knocked Up” director
Judd Apatow. Judd Apatow was in the house to present his wife
Leslie Mann an award for her performance in “Knocked Up”.
We talked to Judd about the success of the film and discussed his take on Katherine Heigl’s comment about the film being "a little sexist. Katherine had made a comment stating that the movie “paints the women as shrews, as humorless and uptight, and it paints the men as lovable, goofy, fun-loving guys. It exaggerated the characters, and I had a hard time with it, on some days. I'm playing such a bitch; why is she being such a killjoy? Why is this how you're portraying women? Ninety-eight percent of the time it was an amazing experience, but it was hard for me to love the movie."
Judd Apatow responded to Katherine’s comment stating, “
I am just shocked she used the word SHREW, I am mean what is this the 1600’s?”
