Kate Winslet is vowing to cover up for the rest of her career! Why?
Well, she doesn’t want to be known in the biz as the girl who strips down for every role. And now that she’s gotten it out of her system with Titanic, The Reader, Revolutionary Road, and her recent Vanity Fair photo shoot, she’s apparently done.
Kate told Time magazine in a recent interview, “I think I won’t do it again: a) I can’t keep getting away with it, and b) I don’t want to become ‘that actress who always gets her kit off.”
And if that’s not enough news, Kate says she doesn’t know when she’ll work again! She says she has no projects lined up in her near future.
She says, “I know how long it’s going to be before I feel, O.K., I really have to know what I’m doing next, or I’ll freak out! I know myself, and it’s only a matter of time.”
And that’s part of Kate’s draw. She’s not one of those actresses that always needs to be working. But when she does, she really steps up to the plate. And all of her hard work pays off, especially this year, with her Oscar nomination for The Reader. She’s a big favorite to win, since she already won the Golden Globe and the SAG Award for that role.
The wait is almost over! Tune in this Sunday to see if Kate is capable of the “triple crown” for her role in The Reader. That would be quite a feat, and definitely deserving of some time off!
