Kate Winslet Channels Elizabeth Taylor for 'V' Cover

For the September cover of V Magazine, Kate Winslet poses as one of her favorite icons—Elizabeth Taylor.

The magazine is releasing its ‘Heroes Issue’, which is basically celebs talking about other celebs they like. Kate Winslet likes Elizabeth Taylor. Miley Cyrus likes Joan Jett. Lady Gaga likes Lady Gaga.

Winslet worked with photographer Mario Testino for her cover. With dark brows, pale lips and a string of pearls, Winslet looks stunningly like Taylor.

In the mag, the actress says that she knew from a young age what her calling was in life:

"I was extremely self sufficient. At the age of 9 I knew I wanted to be an actress. I had that sort of determination that I can imagine in 9 or 10-year-old girl, for a parent, must have been fairly disconcerting … I didn’t know how on earth I was going to pull any of that off, but I was just sure of it.”

And whaddya know, it worked for her. When most of us were ten, the only thing we were determined about was watching The Lion King for the fourteenth time in a row.

Winslet rose to fame after her role alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in Titanic. The newcomer infamously went topless in the flick, which is not something she's comfortable with.

"I hate it! Listen, make no mistake, I just get on it. I just go in and say ‘Oh f—’ let’s do it.’ And boom. If you complain about it or procrastinate it’s not going to go away. It’s a profoundly bizarre thing to do … You can literally be tangled in sheets, and you turn to the other actor and say ‘What the f— are we doing?’ ‘Dear Mum, at work today I had so-and-so’s left nut sack pressed against my cheek.’ It’s sort of unethical if you think about it in those terms.”

Unethical and, not to mention, icky.

Winslet recently made headlines after she rescued Richard Branson's 90 year-old mother from a terrifying fire on his private island. Winslet was staying on Necker Island with her children, Mia and Joe.

"We're fine, we really are fine. And just -- we're just so lucky. We're just so lucky that we woke up when we did, that we got out of the property when we did, because literally another five minutes and it could be a whole different story," the actress said.

And speaking of terrifying, Winslet stars in the upcoming flick, Contagion. The Soderbergh project chronicles a virus that threatens mankind. Winslet says of the movie:

"It's something that is in people's minds. You know, we are growing more accustomed to sudden panic -- hearing about a new outbreak of a disease, similar to swine flu, that started in Germany and they think it came from cucumbers. I mean this is the world we live in now."
