You know you’re hot when you land a cover for GQ... and you’re a woman.
Internet sensation turned “ America's Premier Spokesperson for Dude-Friendly Products,” actress and swimsuit model Kate Upton was just revealed to be the latest female cover girl for Gentlemen’s Quarterly magazine, an event that happens about once a year.
To advertise the new issue, GQ has had a little guess-who-owns-this-rack-in-a-wet-t-shirt contest. Or what they are calling a “Cover Preview” video. It features Upton’s rack, in a see thru shirt, climbing out of a pool. Guys: watch and repeat.
They also wrote an article on her aptly titled Kate Upton: American Bombshell, in which they offer up the “Seven Habits of Highly Effective Internet Bombshells,” in order to retrace her steps to success from a viral YouTube video that features her jiggling to her getting naked in a classic convertible while she chews down a Carl’s Jr. Southwest Patty Melt -- yeah, that was her.
Of her popularity with male followers, Upton offers up the priceless gem: "I grew up in Florida riding horses, so for the majority of my life I was either in boots and jeans or a bathing suit," she says. "I understand why my male followers like me."
She’s also endorsed video games, Axe Body Spray by means of ping-pong, Zoo York and most importantly, boobs.
All of this has helped her land a few roles in the feature films Tower Heist and The Three Stooges... And did we mention she’s a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model?
And don’t worry, she knows she’s hot: "It's like any job," she says. "You find your strengths and play them up." (boobs)
