The U.k. Bans Kate Moss

October 03, 2007

Kate Moss’ Rimmel ad has been banned in the U.K. after she was accused of having fake lashes on for a mascara ad.

The adverts promoting Rimmel's new Magnif'Eyes mascara claim that their product "boosts the length of women's eyelashes by up to 70 per cent more than rival brands."

Anyone who views this Rimmel Mascara ad knows that Kate Moss’ lashes do not look real. Only an idiot would believe that mascara would actually get your lashes to look like that.

The British Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has decided that the commercial is "misleading." and the company behind the promo has not been able to prove that Moss wasn’t wearing fake lashes, hence the ban.

If this news sounds familiar, that’s because L’Oreal got heat for the same thing three months ago when their ad with Penelope Cruz featured “misleading” mascara.
