Only in Hollywood do you become more famous and make more money after getting caught snorting cocaine. Kate Moss lost millions after her cocaine allegations, but she bounced back in less than a year and she actually has more contracts under her belt and a lot more money in the bank.
Kate Moss must feel like she's on top of the world right now, she was just named Britain’s Model of the Year. Moss won over two other finalists, Erin O’Connor and Alek Wek, at the British Fashion Awards.
“Kate Moss is a fashion icon and without doubt one of the most prolific models in the industry,” the awards panel said in naming her the winner. “She has now been modeling for over 15 years and remains at the top of her game.” Many have argued against this decision, claiming the British babe is a bad example with her troubled past.
Speaking of bad example, Colombia's Vice President believes Moss is fueling a civil war in Colombia by glamorizing cocaine. Francisco Santos believes the model, whose cocaine addiction was exposed had caused "pain". Santos revealed he is puzzled why her profile and earnings rose after the revelations. He fumed: "To me, it's baffling that someone who helps cause so much pain in Colombia is doing better than ever, winning more contracts. I never once heard her say 'I'm sorry', when in Colombia people die every day because of cocaine consumption - that hurts."
It is estimated that around 3,000 people are killed each year by paramilitaries and terrorists fighting to control the drug trade in Colombia. Santos believes celebrities in Europe and America who take cocaine are responsible for deaths back in Colombia. Launching the "cocaine curse" campaign in London yesterday, he said: "Their line of coke is tainted in blood."
