The British are coming…and gone. I think we spent more time anticipating their arrival then the length of their actual stay.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge headed back to London yesterday. No private jet this time, the royals and their 12-person entourage flew on a commercial flight where they took up most of 1st class.
The couple landed in LA on Friday and attended a tech conference in Beverly Hills and then a meet-and-greet with senior politicians at the Consular General’s residence in Los Angeles.
Then on Saturday, William and Kate attended the Polo Match in Santa Barbara and later that evening they attended the BAFTA event honoring “Brit’s to Watch,” where the Duke and Duchess rubbed elbows with some of Hollywood’s royalty.
It was back to Santa Barbara on Sunday morning for a private charity event, then to skid row in Downtown LA and finally an event at Sony Studios honoring members of the armed services.
I’m guessing this whirlwind trip was a lot different than the rodeos they attended in Canada.
Right before they left, William stated, “I would just say, on behalf of us both, how grateful we are to have been welcomed so warmly in the Golden State and the City of Angels. Thank you so much.”
