Why Pippa Middleton is So Popular

When you were little and dreamt of being Cinderella, you had it all wrong. You should've dreamt of being Cinderella's sister.

Pippa Middleton, the slightly younger sister of Kate Middleton, is almost a carbon copy of her soon-to-be princess sibling. Like Kate, Pippa is all smiles in nearly every photo you see of her—and she should be—she basically gets to be a princess without having to do any of the work.

She's been named the most eligible single in England, which might come as some surprise to Alex Loudon, Pippa's rumored boyfriend and Prince William's friend. And as Kate eases her way into her princess routine, the media will undoubtedly turn the spotlight on her family, namely, Pippa.

"Without saying that she's cashing in on it, I think it's very convenient for her social status that her sister is about to become one of the most famous people on the planet," ABC's royal contributor, Duncan Larcombe said.

And given Pippa's party-loving personality, she's going to enjoy every minute of it. Tatler magazine editor Catherine Ostler described Pippa, real name Philippa, as "the really fun one, slightly louder and more outgoing than Kate. Possibly slightly naughtier."

Pips is often photographed with the rest of the royals—Princess Beatrice and Eugenie. So she's already in the royal circle. But when it comes to getting up early to go through her list of daily appearances, Pippa can hit the snooze.

Author Plum Sykes put it most concisely: "Pippa is the luckiest one of all. She gets all the right sort of attention from men, fashion designers, hostesses and things, and doesn’t have any of the duties. She’s become a Princess without the bad bits."

Being a royal without being in the Royal Family? Sounds great to me.
