All dogs go to heaven but only the lucky ones get to live like royalty in the meantime.
Kate Middleton made an appearance at a children’s bazaar in Mayfield on Thursday in an effort to raise funds for children living under extreme conditions. However, based on reports, it was her canine compadre that ended up stealing the show.
People magazine reports that the family’s Cocker spaniel Lupo was beside the Duchess the entire night, stealing a hors d'oeuvre or two whenever he got a chance.
Paul Abbott, fundraising and communications director of the charity, was thrilled to have the pup tramping around the venue. According to Abbotts’ report, while people gathered to give to needy children, Lupo was just as happy setting up a charity of his own: his mouth.
"Many people were excited by the puppy," he said. "He was eating sausages, and anything that got dropped he was sniffing up."
Per usual, Kate oozed with charm…
"Kate was absolutely gorgeous, so friendly. There were many of our lowly fundraising team there and she was so warm to them," added Abbott.
The event, which took place at the Burlington Arcade, was to benefit the Ormiston Children and Families Trust, a UK-based charity that “services to support children and young people from disadvantaged communities who face the very real dangers of social exclusion.”
The company of Kate—and let’s face it Lupo too—helped score the organization a solid $24,000. The Duchess’ sister Pippa Middleton was also on the scene.
Later on, Kate met up with Prince William at St. Andrews to do a little more fundraising before the day way done. She wore a reused Alice by Temperley lace dress that she was first spotted wearing at the premiere of Steven Spielberg’s War Horse.
