Kate Middleton Still Doing Charity Work During Illness

The Duchess, formerly known as Kate Middleton, donated a clothing hamper to an auction to benefit the East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices, which is not incredibly newsworthy seeing as her job is to do charity. It’s like, what she does every day. But still, it further emphasizes how perfect Kate is.

Anyways, while Kate was hospitalized in December for severe morning sickness, she still had enough energy in her philanthropic heart to donate a hamper to be auctioned off.

Translation, Kate Middleton is an awesome and selfless person, even when she is dragon-vomiting in a hospital. We love her!

Buckingham Palace just released a statement to Hollyscoop, basically saying, Kate does charity work 24/7, it’s kind of her thing.

“I believe that someone sent her a gift, which she forwarded to the charity. But the Duchess is already patron of the charity EACH,” says the Palace rep.

As is the usual protocol with the Palace, anything that is sent to Kate or William must be returned or donated. So the Palace swiftly donated the hamper gift to EACH. "The fact that the hamper was delivered on the day that the Duchess was in [the] hospital was a coincidence in timing," says the Palace, trying to downplay Kate's charitable action.

On the website for the EACH auction, Kate wrote, “EACH is invaluable to hundreds of families. In the past year there has been an unprecedented amount of care and support delivered to children and young people with life-threatening illnesses, and their families.”

“I have been fortunate enough to meet some of those who have been supported by EACH, and seen firsthand the positive impact this charity has on their lives.”
