Kate Middleton Is Spending Valentine's Day Without Prince William

It’s a stupid holiday anyway. Totally manufactured by card and candy companies to peddle their crap on us. And if my boyfriend doesn’t get me anything, there will be hell to pay.

Kate Middleton is about to experience her first Valentine’s Day as a wife. Unfortunately, her husband will not be a part of it. The Duchess of Cambridge has a full day of activities planned while William is working in the Falklands.

On February 14, Kate will go to Liverpool where she’ll support the charity Action on Addiction and & Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust. The charity is opening their own adult dry bar that offers food and entertainment for recovering alcohol and drug addicts. Duchess Kate became a Patron of Action on Addiction as of January 2012.

Prince William is set to be deployed to the Falkland Islands this month. On February 8th, Kate will visit the National Portrait Gallery. The art history major will attend a private viewing of the Lucian Freud Portraits exhibition.

Meanwhile, Kate and William have fallen “in love” with their new puppy. The two adopted a cocker spaniel puppy. It’s a boy, and it’s about a month old.

“The puppy is theirs,” a Palace aide, whom I imagine to be Mr. Belvedere, tells Us Weekly. "He belongs to a litter of cocker spaniels from one of Carole Middleton's friends near home," the aide explains.

“William and Catherine fell in love with the pup instantly and it wasn't long before they decided to keep him. He’s now part of the royal fold.”
