Kate Middleton is many things: pretty, fashionable, nice, adoring, royal…but homeless isn’t one of them.
She may spend $55,000 a year on dresses but for one day, she might sleep on the streets.
Kate has told British TV star Lisa Maxwell that she’ll join her for a “Sleep Out” to raise public awareness for the homelessness problem in London.
Both Lisa Maxwell and Kate’s hubby Prince William are patrons to Centrepoint, a UK based charity aiming to end homelessness for youth.
Kate recently attended a Gala for the charity when she was introduced to Lisa.
“She asked me about sleeping out, so I said: ‘Next time I do it, you’re doing it with me,” Lisa told The Mirror, "[Kate] said: ‘You’re on.’”
William and his mother Princess Diana have already taken part in “Sleep Outs” in the past.
Back in 2009, William joined other homeless people and slept on the streets next to some large dumpsters. During the night, William apparently almost got ran over by a street sweeper.
At the time, Centrepoint wrote in it’s newsletter, “[William] was determined to do it as [Centrepoint] patron to raise awareness of the problem and to be able to understand a little better what rough sleepers go through.”
Last year, Kate got involved with the charity for a healthy eating cooking program, but now she wants to emerse herself with the “rough sleepers," to use the Brit's words.
Lisa Maxwell thinks she can handle it, calling the Duchess “very savvy and very smart.”
