How dare she.
I guess because she had her fill of the Royals over the holidays, Kate Middleton decided to go on vacation without any of them.
On Wednesday, Kate flew first class from London’s Gatwick Airport to the Caribbean island country of St. Lucia with her parents, Mike and Carole Middleton. Her siblings, Pippa and James were also there.
But who was missing? None other than Prince William. Most likely because had to work. And that's how bad the state of the work force is, folks. You can't even get a day off if you're royalty.
The Middletons stayed in the super private Caribbean island of Mustique. They were most likely celebrating Carole’s birthday, as she turns 57 at the end of the month. The family visited the island back in August, but Kate was unable to join.
Mustique has also been visited by Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, who made private visits in 1966, 1977, and 1985.
Princess Margaret, the sister of Queen Elizabeth II, actually received part of the island as a wedding present in 1960. That makes anyone who got her a toaster look like a total shmuck.
Recently, Paul McCarney honeymooned on the island with his new wife, Nancy Shevell. They reportedly stayed at Mick Jagger’s luxury villa there. A source told the British newspaper the Sunday Mirror:
"Sir Paul is a regular visitor to Mustique and has stayed before at the home of Mr Jagger. "He loves the privacy the island offers and there is no better place to spend a honeymoon. Everyone will just leave them to enjoy their special time together."
