Kate Middleton Gives First Speech as a Royal

So THAT’S what her voice sounds like.

After being a royal for almost a year, Kate Middleton is finally giving a speech! Middleton gave an public speech at the opening of the East Anglia Children’s hospice Treehouse center and let me just say that she sounds exactly like that chick from Harry Potter!

Her short speech was sweet and to the point and everyone seemed to be thrilled by her appearance.

“I feel hugely honored to be here to see this wonderful center,” she told the crowd, “I am only sorry that William can’t be here today, he would love it here.”

This got a huge laugh! Not sure why, but I’ve never understood British humor anyways.

She seemed pretty nervous, as is expected for her first big speech. She checked her note-cards pretty often, but otherwise it was a really good speech, very heartwarming and genuine.

“Today I have seen again that the Treehouse is all about family and fun…The feelings you inspire; the feelings of love and hope offer a chance to families to live a life they never thought could be possible.”

Kate wrote the speech herself and wore a bright blue belted Reiss dress (her favorite) and spoke in front of 600 people. After the speech she planted some trees at the new hospice center and apparently told one guest, “I find doing speeches nerve wrecking.”
