Kate Middleton and Prince William stepped out of Buckingham Palace looking uncharacteristically sporty. The Royal couple were on hand to welcome the Olympic Flame on its last stop before heading to the Olympic Games.
Kate ditched her usual conservative frocks for an official team GB white polo, bright blue skinny jeans and some blue cork wedges. This is the first time I’ve seen the Duchess dress her age. Way to go girl, I knew she was going to retire those knee-skimming Reiss dresses eventually.
The couple was also joined by Prince Harry, all of them outfitted in team GB shirts and matching slacks. These three are ambassadors to the British Olympiads and seemed genuinely happy for the torch passing ceremony.
The famous Royal couple were the last to light the famous flame. Well, they didn’t light it themselves, the torch bearers did, but they stood by and clapped wildly.
Afterwards, the couple participated in a variety of sporting events with local kids. They played table tennis, judo and soccer and Kate won a game of table tennis against the current under-13 champion. Okay, so she played a 13-year-old but it was still impressive.
Later in the day, the Royal couple PLUS Michelle Obama and some UK Prime Ministers all converged on Buckingham Palace and shook hands while us mere mortals can only wonder what a meeting of those minds would look like.
At the fancy feat, Kate wore an ice blue coat dress by British designer (of course) Christopher Kane.
