Famed photographer Mario Testino took the close up shortly after they announced their engagement back in November.
Testino, a close friend of the late Princess Diana’s, said: “I guess it was a way for them to keep William’s mother in the whole process of it.”
He added: “They are a young couple in love.”

The July issue of Vanity Fair will be on newsstands on June 3, ahead of the newly-weds’ trip to Canada and California in July.
They’ll begin their tour in Canada on June 30th at Ottawa, Ontario and Gatineau, Quebec and end it on July 8th at Calgary, Alberta.
On July 8th they’ll fly to Los Angeles presumably to rub elbows with all their celebrity fans. But of course those details are being downplayed.
"The couple view this as a working visit, not as an opportunity for them to meet celebrities," the palace source says. They'll be promoting Britain through "the prism of their own interests."
