Jon & Kate Premiere is Show's Most Watched Episode

Last night’s premiere of Jon & Kate Plus 8 was the most watched episode of the show since it began 5 seasons ago. Last year’s season finale of the show brought in 4.6 million viewers, and that number more than doubled last night for the season 5 premiere. 9.8 million people tuned in.

Ever since Jon Gosselin and Kate Gosselin have graced the covers of numerous tabloids because of their alleged affairs, people have become obsessed with them. We sure weren’t fans of the show before, but we tuned in last night!

During the awkward episode, Kate made several hints that their marriage was crumbling, saying, "I am thinking this possibly could be our last family picture together, I don't know...parents of multiples have, like, triple the divorce rate, and I was thinking we were gonna beat that. I don't know if I can say that anymore.

"Very swiftly, we turned into two different people, and that's just hard. I've tried for six months to figure out what the problem is, or remedy the problem. It's so complicated."

Critics have been slamming the episode, with the Baltimore Sun calling Kate a “self-absorbed fool,” and Ken Tucker of Entertainment Weekly saying, "You just wanted to say, 'We get it! You feel you're the Wronged Woman! Aren't you savvy enough by now to know you're not winning us over?”

Last night’s episode definitely didn’t make it look like Jon and Kate were going to be patching things up any time soon. Did you tune in? What do you think is going to happen with them?
