Karl Lagerfeld got torn a new one after he made the mistake of calling Adele “a little too fat.” And I don’t think that it’s because the world necessarily cares what Karl Lagerfeld has to say about fat people, I think it’s because people love Adele. After hearing 21, you just want to stick up for her.

But Adele really doesn’t need any sticking up for. She responded to the Chanel designer’s comments, saying

Paris Fashion week was full into effect and here’s a recap of what to expect from the city that invented fashion. For Fall it’s not about minimal clothing, simplicity but the contrary extravagance and bold colors. As Hollyscoop viewed the collections of the top designers there is only one conclusion we can assert, designers dug deep into the History books or Disney Fairy Tale flicks for their latest creations.

John Galliano definitely thought of the Renaissance period as his dresses were fit for any Shakesperian novel, or he probably got drunk while watching “Marie Antoinette” and was influenced by the movies costume.

John Galliano
For his own line John was thinking Robin Hood but minus the “men in tights”. You can say it was more like women in tights.

Chanel
Karl Lagerfeld was probably thinking about “Sleeping Beauty” when he designed his collection for the French line. We honestly can’t imagine Karl’s latest muses Lily Allen or Fergie sporting these gowns on stage.

Christian Lacroix
We are pretty sure Leonardo da Vinci’s “Virgin Mary” painting was an influence for his collection.

Givenchy
Designer Riccardo Tisci created a futuristic take on the amazons of Greek mythology for his Fall collection. Don’t know about the Greek mythology part but we did feel like we were on Broadway watching “The Lion King”.

Chanel definitely knows how to throw a party. Last night Karl Lagerfeld hosted a couture bash at the Santa Monica Airport. There was a Chanel private jet ready to take off for all the A-list celebrities that made their way to the 2007/08 Chanel Cruise Show. We are upset we couldn’t be there to help fly the jet.

But no worries, Victoria Beckham made a pit stop to help out with any technical difficulties. Posh who is currently in Los Angeles shooting her reality show made an entrance in her Chanel short jacket. While Lindsay Lohan stopped by from NYC, because it was one party she didn’t want to miss. Demi Moore also stopped by in the classic Chanel tweed jacket. Others in attendance included Jessica Alba, Eva Mendes, Diane Kruger, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, Dita Von Teese, Elisha Cuthbert among others.

One star that really caught our eye was Camille Belle, who looked stunning in a gorgeous short Chanel number. She gets our Hollylicious “Red Carpet” award and definitely is one star you should look out for, as she is heating up the scene with her exotic beauty and style.

“Ecch. I’m not that impressed. I’m not that interested. I’m not that impressed.” Karl Lagerfeld on Jessica Simpson. Ouch!

Karl Lagerfeld is known for his extravagant shows, filled with the finest of all creations. He is truely a fashion genius and this is my homage to King Karl. Unlike any other runway shows, Karl’s Chanel’s Cruise 07 show took over New York’s Grand Central Terminal’s Metrazur restaurant. The show brought in the Devil who wasn’t wearing Prada Anna Wintour, Mischa Barton, Naomi Watts, Julianne Moore, and Maria Bello. As for the fashion it was all about classic, sheik and simplicity. The “it” colors were solid, which ranged from black, white, pink and the nudes. The clothing ranged from the traditional tweed suits mixed with hip couture shorts. Cocktail numbers were on Karl’s mind, since most of the dresses were short, chiffon and had mademoiselle Coco’s favorite embroidered chain links.

In my opinion, the hottest items from this show are Karl’s revision of the denim. Karl created the wide leg denim dungarees and topped it off with a logo print shirt. I think this is going to be the trendiest look of the season! As for the Men, the trend is all about denim jeans along with a polo print shirt.

It was hard not to ignore the shoes the models were sporting. The high heel boots were substituted by knee high gladiator sandals. The accessory look was all about models sporting armloads of bangles, shoulder duster earrings, ribbons in the hair and glamorous hats.

I think Karl did a brilliant job and I don’t know what else he can create to beat this. Than again its Karl, he always recreates the old, the classic the good!
