Karina and Maksim Planning Summer Wedding

Karina Smirnoff and Maksim Chmerkovskiy are in full wedding planning mode!

They got engaged after only a couple of months of dating, but they are taking their time planning their wedding.

The two are planning their nuptials for the summer—but not this one coming up! They’re waiting til 2010 to tie the knot.

Chmerkovskiy tells People, "If it was just friends and family that would be one thing, but there are so many people telling us, 'We'll be there, we want to come!' So we said, Okay, the wedding is turning out to be a bigger production. We want to take our time. You don't want to piss anybody off or hurt anybody."

To help plan the big day, Karina and Maksim have hired a little help. He says, "Next June is when we want to have the wedding. We are currently interviewing a few wedding planners because we figure we could use professional help."

There’s nothing wrong with waiting a little before tying the knot! So many Hollywood couples jump right in, just to get divorced a few months later. Karina and Maksim’s engagement will be longer than some celebrity marriages! We wish them luck with the wedding planning!
