Kanye West’s popularity isn’t soaring as high as it used to. The cause? His relationship with Kim Kardashian.
That’s what the latest reports from Q Scores, a reputable measure of celebrity popularity in the industry more or less, suggests.
According to the site, Kanye originally had a high score of 17 among women between the ages of 18 and 49. But once he started dating Kim in April 2011, his score tanked to a low 3 in the same category.
In comparison to his peers, rappers and hip-hop artists tend to fare between a 12 and 18 score.
Kanye’s popularity actually rose with men but it peaked in February 2013, only to start falling again. There could be various reasons: his clashes with paparazzi, an oversaturation of his relationship with Kim K, popular opinion of his ego, etc.
“Kanye has had a significant drop among women,” Henry Schafer, executive vice president of Q Scores told Radar Online. “It’s surprising.”
