Kanye West has written a lullaby for Blue Ivy’s second birthday, except it won’t ever see the light of day because it’s probably terrifying.
A source revealed to the Daily Star that “Kanye wanted to do something personal for his best friend’s baby. So he decided he would write and record a lullaby especially for her. It won’t be released; it’s just for Blue. He hopes it’ll help send her off to sleep at night.”
As badly as we want to hear what it would sound like if Kanye were to score a Baby Einstein DVD, I doubt any of us really has any room in their iTunes library for a song that has Kanye droning “GOOOOO TOOOOO SLEEEEPPPP” in Auto-Tune levels that can only be heard within the fifth circle of hell.
Thematically, the source added that the song is about how both Kanye and Blue’s dad Jay Z hope that their daughters won’t have to confront the same struggles they did growing up.
“It’s really catchy and slow,” described the source. “Rather than the usual sweet dreams-themed lullaby songs, Kanye raps about how Blue Ivy and Nori [North West] will be mega powerful when they’re older. It also mentions how him and Jay Z will work hard to make sure their girls have an easier path then they did.”
