Kanye West to Jay Leno: I'm "Just Ashamed"

Kanye West saw his name on the top of the charts with his single 'Heartless' and now his heartless act at the MTV VMA's has caused such a backlash, he's on major damage control.

Jay Leno was lucky enough to have had him scheduled as a guest during the premiere of 'The Jay Leno Show' last night on NBC so Kanye got one more chance to make a public apology.

Speaking to Jay, Kanye said, "It's been extremely difficult. Just dealing with the fact that I hurt someone or took anything away, you know, from a talented artist or from anyone, because I only want to help people.

"My entire life, I've only wanted to give and do something that I felt was right. And I immediately knew in the situation that it was wrong, it's actually someone's emotions, you know, that I stepped on." Kanye claimed he knew he was doing the wrong thing when he handed the microphone back to Taylor and she just stared at the ground with tears in her eyes.

He added: "It was very rude, period. And, you know, I'd like to be able to apologize to her in person. I'm just ashamed that my hurt caused someone else's hurt."

Class is not an act. It is a behavior that you are taught. You learn it from the time you are a toddler. Obviously he never learned it. He should take a class in how to behave in public. I doubt however, that there is any help to be had for such an egotistical jerk as he is.

Can't take the "thug" out of a ghetto thug and you cannot take the "ghetto" out of a thug. With that being said, he's very ignorant. It's useless to tell him to take an etiquette class. He probably cannot spelled the word. Kanye, it's called E T I Q U E T T E. Have someone look it up and explain it to you. I feel more positive towards Kayne (someone whom I've never heard of, but I definitely have heard of Taylor and am a fan)in understanding that he's going through a grieving process, and this might have made him lash out. Not excusable, but more understandable. I think he needs to go to grief counseling. It doesn't just have to do with my tastes in music, either. I would have been just as disgusted by this behavior out of Taylor towards Kanye, if things were reversed. Annieseyes2--you're so right about Patrick Swayze!

Kinda felt bad for him once Jay brought up his mom...I dont Kanye thought about what his mother would think of his actions..It was almost as if Jay leno was his dad and Kanye was a little boy getting punished for mouthing off..very sad.I think he should take some time off and deal with his emotions

Kanye, please consider your YOUNG audience with your lyric choices. Some (not all) are inappropriate for children. Negative publicity is not good. Taylor Swift handled the situation graciously. Beyonce handled the situations remarkably. You are trying to make things right and that is good thing. Consider what it was that influenced you to do such an act. How would you feel if you were Taylor Swift. Treat people the way you would want to be treated. If this was some publicity stunt by VMA --shame on them. Learn from this and grow. If alcohol is an influence - you should not drink. Congratulations Taylor, Beyonce, and hopefully Kanye for learning a life lesson. Your mother would be proud you are trying ot make things right.

This is just another of Kanye's ongoing BS disrespect of every other artist out there. Taylor won the award fair and square. Kanye just acted like a spoiled child pitching a fit. He gave no thought to anyone else's feelings but his own. He's a sad piece of work and needs to a leave from the public so he can find a way to get humble. Kanye was wrong as two left shoes. However the man apologized and the young lady has moved on from it. Its apparent he still has some inner issues going on possibly still stemming from his mother's death. Not that its an excuse but it is what it is. Not only that he was drinking that night. I didnt see the continuous outrage with people disrespecting our president the way they do. Move on from it. If you were a Kanye fan before this you will continue to be one after this. They are still playing his music in my city. He will be ok because he does more than just rap, he produces and he will still make money. Everyone knows Kanye is an a$$ you either love him or you dont. My grandfather can be an a$$ too but I still love him and he says way more terrible things than Kanye does but thats my grandfather.
