Hollywood’s big day has finally arrived…
On Thursday night, famous faces from all ends of the music industry will gather at the Staples Center in Los Angeles for what is sure to be an fun-filled and exciting night. But what should you expect if you’re expecting to tune in to MTV’s big event tonight?
So many questions, so little time to come up with answers for you…
Kanye M.I.A.: One thing that most definitely is not going to happen is another Kanye West interruption. Yeezy is officially sitting tonight’s festivities out in order to support his girlfriend for the launch of her new fragrance in New York.
Kanye is up for “Best Hip-Hop Video” for his song “Mercy” and his collaboration with Jay-Z on The Throne’s “N****s in Paris.”
Bar Fight: In terms of a Breezy-Drizzy Round 2 Brawl throw down happening, with all the witnesses, the duo will likely remain docile in an effort to not embarrass themselves. Best case scenario, the R&B duo will formally accept the Alki David’s offer to take their beef to the ring in a Vegas celebrity boxing match.
The Year of the Purple Hair: With Katie Perry’s film, her alleged budding relationship with John Mayor, and nominations in four categories, she will likely be the center of attention more than once at the event. The “Wide Awake” singer will kick things off, handing out the first Moonman.
A Perfect Blend of Punk and Pop: MTV did a good job at crafting a set list of performers from a variety of genres. Despite a brief health scare, Green Day will be repping the punk department with the help of P!nk. Meanwhile, One Direction and Taylor Swift will bring the pop, Alicia Keys and Frank Ocean will do some R&Bing, and Nicki Minaj (with a special guest… B.o.B?) and Rihanna will deliver some muched need hip-hop.
Twilight Drama: It’s the first Rob Pattinson appearance following Kristen’s cheating scandal that will not take place in a completely controlled environment. So, when Kristen’s face appears on monitors during the Breaking Dawn: Part 2 preview, there are bound to be some boos from the crowd.
