After six and a half years having to deal with Justin Timberlakes’s acting career and his lack of music, JT has finally released a new song.
The 13-year-old girl who screamed at 'N SYNC concerts just momentarily lost her mind.
After several days of teaser videos and vague messages from JT himself, the song is here and it’s called “Suit and Tie.”
What with all the exiting build-up, I can’t help but be a little disappointed. It’s a lazy, sipping on some sweet tea vodka, kind of jam. I was hoping for some club-banger, but unfortunately this is not that.
However, there’s no lack of Justin going into his falsetto voice.
I wouldn’t even describe the song as pop music. It’s kind of what would happen if Maroon 5 hung out with big-band musicians for an entire summer in Georgia.
It’s a little swing-y for my tastes, I would have preferred the follow up to “Sexy Back,” but it’s closer to “Like I Love You.”
To be quite honest, I’m not even sure what genre this is, which is an awesome thing creatively, but a bad thing for radio play.
There is a cool Jay-Z rap later in the song, which is reminiscent of his “Empire State Of Mind” verse.
The song was released at midnight on Monday January 14th along with this message.
“The inspiration for this really came out of the blue and to be honest, I didn't expect anything out of it. I just went into the studio and started playing around with some sounds and songs. It was probably the best time I've had in my career... Just creating with no rules and/or end goal in mind and really enjoying the process,” writes JT.
The song is posted on Justin’s website, as well as on Myspace, because as you know, Justin owns that dinosaur of a social networking site now, or whatever.
