Apparently, these two were thugs when they were in the Mickey Mouse Club together. Justin Timberlake sat down in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, set to air on Thursday. In the interview, Timberlake discusses his old partner-in-crime, Ryan Gosling.
“Were you friends then?” DeGeneres asked. “Are you friends now?” Timberlake responded:
“Yeah, he is working a lot, too. It’s hard to keep up with him. He’s always been that charismatic and that talented.”
Timberlake revealed that when they were ten or eleven year-old kids, they also lived together for a while.
“We actually, funny enough, his mother had to keep her job in Canada the second year that we were on the television show and my mom was his guardian for like six months. So we actually lived together when we were that age.”
Those two little heartbreakers conspiring under the same roof? Can’t be good.
“We were probably a little closer that the rest of the kids that were on the show just because we had to share a bathroom,” Timberlake explains. Yep, it's true. There’s nothing that brings people together like a mutual toilet.
Justin then went on to tell Ellen that the two “used to do terrible things” together.
“We thought we were so cool when we were on the Mickey Mouse Club,” Justin explains. “Looking back on them, they weren’t as bad as I thought they were at the time. We stole a golf cart. And we we’re like, ‘Yeah, man, we’re stealing a golf cart!’ but... it's, like, on a backlot; there's golf carts everywhere. So we stole the golf cart and we drove into MGM Studios, which is totally illegal by the way. I was like, what you want to do thug? And [Ryan] was like I don’t know cuz…because that’s definitely how we talked.”
And I definitely believe that’s how they talked. So what did the criminals do when they hijacked the cart? Justin says:
"I was like, 'I don't know man. I'm in the mood for some vanilla.' He was like, 'I'm in the mood for some chocolate.' So, we went and got milkshakes."
What else are two kids gonna do with a stolen golf cart? Milkshakes were the best possible plan.
Timberlake, who has made a swift transition into acting, stars in the upcoming flick In Time. He expressed his admiration for his old pal:
“He’s unbelievable. I think one of the best actors of our generation.”
