This morning, we had a discussion in the office on guys and earrings, specifically the celebs who wear them. Are they upgraded by a little jewelry or do you find it all to be a deal breaker? Let’s look at some examples.
1. Colin Farrell
Do earrings reinforce Colin’s bad boy image? In his case, are hoops better than studs?
2. Johnny Depp
Johnny’s feathered earrings get lost in his bohemian look. In fact, you might not even notice that he has them on. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
3. Michael B. Jordan
MBJ’s earrings give him a little sparkle that brings out the glint in his smile, don’t you agree?
4. Morgan Freeman
We like that Morgan went with a textured earring. It’s age-appropriate and has a vague sense of character, which Morgan already has a ton of.
5. Ewan McGregor
Ewan veers off the beaten path of men with earrings by rocking just one and not a pair. Does it look swaggy or just totally unkempt?
6. Daniel Day-Lewis
We love DDL, but does this earring (which looks like an heirloom that was passed down through generations) freak you out a little or nah?
7. Harrison Ford
We’re all well acquainted with Harrison’s earring at this point (he’s been rocking it for years), but does it make him look even more antiquated?
8. Jamie Foxx
When you’re Jamie Foxx, you can pretty much wear whatever you want and get away with it based on sheer confidence alone, which can in and of itself be an attractive quality.
9. David Beckham
To be fair, David has come a long, long way since this photo was taken, but those earrings are slightly terrifying.
10. Will Smith
When you’re forever remembered in everyone’s hearts as the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, diamond earrings feel appropriate.
11. Justin Bieber
This is probably the most contentious entry on the list. Is there a certain age you need to be in order to be a male and convincingly wear diamond earrings? What’s the cutoff point between something that can look somewhat feminine and something that can look stylish?
