Justin Bieber set a new YouTube record with his music video "Boyfriend" scoring 8 million views in a single day but the heartthrob doesn't believe it's all work and no play. The singer took some time for himself Saturday to catch the boxing match of Miguel Cotto vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr. in Las Vegas and it was clear which team he was on!
The 18-year-old singer tweeted: “cinco de mayo.... #MayweatherCotto yeah @FloydMayweather today is a BIG day.”
Mayweather responded via Twitter as well: “@justinbieber keep up the great work and thanks for the support#TheMoneyTeam. Enjoy the fight.”
With 1.5 million pay-per-viewers watching, Bieber hung out with 50 Cent and Lil Wayne before joining Mayweather in the ring to celebrate winning his eighth championship belt. The appearance had been planned for months, TMZ reports, at Mayweather’s request. Apparently the champ enjoyed Bieber’s movie, “Never Say Never.”
After the fight, Bieber tweeted: “@FloydMayweather Hard Work & Dedication . congrats champ. glad i could be a part of it.”
Of course for Bieber, it was back to work after the fight. He tweeted, “in and out of vegas for the fight. now back for rehearsals tomorrow. goodnight world. hard work and dedication.”
As for the champ, Mayweather is headed to Clark County Detention Center on June 1 to serve an 87-day sentence for misdemeanor domestic violence.
