Actress Julie Benz, whose popular character Rita married a serial killer in ‘Dexter’ before meeting her untimely demise, walked down the aisle for real this past Saturday to marry Rich Orosco, a marketing executive.
The evening ceremony took place in Los Angeles at the John Sowden house. Built by Lloyd Wright, son of famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright, the house has a distinctive façade much like a Mayan temple that earned it the catchy moniker, "Jaws House."
That sounds like a good place to pledge ‘til death do we part, doesn’t it?
The couple met five years ago and got engaged last June when Orosco, 39, gave the actress an $80,000 custom designed 3-carat ring during a surprise Mexican-themed party at their home. A Cinco de Mayo wedding was the obvious next step!
“It was absolutely perfect,” Benz, 40, gushed to People Magazine. This will be the second marriage for the former ‘Dexter’ star. She was previously married to actor John Kassir.
Joining Benz was her co-star from ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’, Charisma Carpenter, 40, who tweeted a picture of the unfortunate damage her gown sustained: “Unbelievable... My dog ate a whole in my amazing bridesmaid dress. I am sick.” But her troubles aside, Charisma tweeted it was a great event: “Best time at a wedding I've ever had! Julie and Rich.... Cheers to you”.
