'Rock Of Ages' Cast Hits Up Red Carpet In NYC

Break out the tight leather jeans, the hair metal, and well… the hair! It’s time to take a journey back to the 1980s.

The highly anticipated opening weekend of Rock of Ages is inching closer. To honor this milestone in the history of cinema, a few of the the stars of the film gathered at a red carpet event in New York City.

The Venetian Las Vegas put on a special screening of the film at Landmark Cinemas on Wednesday night. Stars that showed up for the elaborate evening included big names like Julianne Hough and film director Adam Shankman. Also making appearances were special guests Padma Lakshmi, Dylan Lauren, Irina Shayk, Lisa Ling, Sean Lenno as well as Matchbox 20’s Rob Thomas and his wife Marisol.

“It’s time to bring the zebra-striped hot pants back,” Thomas said.

Rock of Ages is adapted from the highly successful Broadway musical of the same title, which highlights rock and roll’s most awkward phase. The musical’s story incorporates hits from legendary acts like Poison, Journey, and Styx.

Looking stunning as always, Hough rocked a stunning Bluemarine dress and light blue Zanotti heels, showing off her dancer’s figure. The “DWTS” star-turned-singer-turned-actress is excited for when the show will open in Vegas, finding the party-loving city a match made in heaven for the party-loving show.

“Vegas is as campy as it gets. It’s the perfect place!” she said.

The Venetian Las Vegas, which plans to replace the Blue Man Group with the Broadway musical in December, has created its very own Bourbon Room for guests to party like rockers.

After the screening, attendees munched on appetizers and sipped cocktails at the New York eatery Sons of Essex which was transformed into The Bourbon Room for the night.

The only true way to cap off a wild night like this? John Waters, of course…

The outlandish film director offered his seal of approval after the screening, confirming it's awesomeness…

“That was awesome!” he proclaimed.

Rock of Ages opens in theaters on June 15th.
