Julianna Margulies, who stars on CBS drama “The Good Wife” and took home an Emmy last night for Outstanding Actress in a Drama, says that her road-to-the-Emmys was also filled with drama.
The actress almost didn’t make it to the Emmy’s and said she was having a “nightmare” day.
I always laugh at what celebs consider to be a “nightmare.” Keep reading for lols.
She said she was supposed to fly in on Saturday from New York, but when their flight was cancelled they didn’t get to LA until last minute, meaning, GASP, that she didn’t have a dress picked out yet!
OMG the horror! Margulies told Ryan Seacrest that “I did find the dress last night at nine. (It was) not good.”
Speaking of “not good”…her dress. Margulies wore a white Armani Prive dress that had such a structured bodice that it looked like she couldn’t even move in it. It was like a fancy straightjacket, or a silk back-brace, or a glittery wastepaper basket. Either way, triple ugg.
She was kind of just shuffling around the red carpet because the bodice made it impossible to turn or bend.
She also says that once they finally boarded the plane is was horrible, they flew coach! And they sat in the middle seat! Ok, the middle seat sucks. Fat person on your left side, talkative person on your right, the middle seat is never okay.
“There’s a long story of how I got here. My flight got cancelled, my husband and I ended up in coach, sitting in the middle (section) away from each other…It was a big day yesterday but we made it and now we’re having a good time.”
She then told Ryan later in the interview that she always flies coach. So what’s the big deal?
Before she took home her award she presented another, where she stood up and said, “Hi, I’m Julianna Margulies, also known as the funniest woman on television.”
It’s funny because she’s not funny. At all. Like, you will never see this woman host SNL or even a funnyordie.com short.
But when she took home her own award, her acceptance speech was very gracious. “Thank you so much to the Academy for this honor…To everyone at CBS, thank you for allowing us to be the show that we are, and for embracing us whole-heartedly.”
“My stellar cast, I love you guys so much. And our beautiful crew, you’re like family to me. And to my spectacular husband, I love being your Good Wife. And I’m so grateful you have no political aspirations.”
