Julia Roberts: Not a Big Hit at Broadway!

Julia Roberts

"The star wattage, so evident on the screen doesn't seem, at least in this case, to transfer to the stage," said the Hollywood Reporter.

According to the New York Times, Roberts displayed "the unyielding stiffness of an industrial lamp post"

"Her voice is strangled, abrupt and often hard to hear. She has the tenseness of a woman who might break in to pieces at any second, that she does not do well -- at least not by any conventional standards of theatrical art -- is unlikely to lose Ms. Roberts any fans, though it definitely won't win her any new ones among drama snobs," the Times critic said

The Chicago Tribune found Roberts' performance "so introspective and lacking in sexual energy that it feels almost apologetic."

Unfortunately these are the reviews that Julia Roberts is getting for her Broadway debut for Richard Greenberg's "Three Days of Rain". I guess some people do not have the charisma to entertain a live audience. Acting is easy because an actor gets 100 takes for every scene. Broadway is a one shot deal. Either you have it or you don’t and by the sounds of it poor little Julia doesn’t have it.
