Josh Hutcherson finds himself on the cover of Out magazine this month and naturally the conversation turned towards his sexual orientation.
When asked how he identifies himself sexually, the Hunger Games actor mused, “Maybe I could say right now I’m 100 percent straight. But who knows? In a f*cking year, I could meet a guy and be like, ‘Whoa, I’m attracted to this person.’”
Josh, who’s an outspoken ally of LGBT rights, proved to be even more comfortable and confident with his sexuality when he clarified, “I’ve met guys all the time that I’m like, ‘Damn, that’s a good-looking guy, you know?’ I’ve never been like, ‘Oh, I want to kiss that guy.’”
“I really love women,” he continued. “But I think defining yourself as 100% anything is kind of near-sighted and close-minded.”
The actor, who plays Peeta in the popular dystopian series, showed he has a sense of humor about the character that catapulted him to fame when he joked about wanting to have a threesome with his co-stars Liam Hemsworth and Jennifer Lawrence’s characters.
“I know Peeta would be into it, for sure,” he said. “He’s very sensitive, in touch with his emotions. I think it really might solve a lot of their problems.” Well, if the next Hunger Games movie ends up being rated R, at least we’ll have an indication as to why.
