While he is the sexy and charming actor husband of Diane Lane and stepson to Barbra Streisand – he’s also an avid independent film supporter and will be the honorary chairperson and panel judge for this Netflix competition.
Brolin admits that his success over the past two years is a direct result of being cast in independent features like No Country For Old Men, W, and his most recent and Oscar buzzed about role in Milk.
Brolin jokingly and humbly referred to himself as “just that guys from Goonies” and when asked if Milk being nominated for the Globes and surely the upcoming Oscars, means more to him because of its independent spirit.
He said, “Yes, only in that it makes more people want to see the film and it makes it more visible. To me, the greatest thing about any award ceremony is that it brings more attention to the film…and this film is so bizarrely timed with Prop 8. The fact that the film will be recognized globally is a huge, huge thing.”
Submissions for the contest will be accepted from now until February 9th Details at www.netflixfindyourvoice.com
