The new couple had a dinner date at Philippe Chow in West Hollywood on Sunday night. And everyone knows, if you want to go public with your romance, have a dinner date in West Hollwood.
So celebs, if you’re going to get annoyed because you’re having a “script meeting” with a fellow actor and everyone assumes it’s a date, stop doing it in West Hollywood. Get together in, oh I don’t know, Culver City? There are other places in this town, ya know.
Derulo—best known for his hit, Ridin’ Solo, had his rep confirm to Us Weekly that he and Sparks have been dating since August, when they did a show together in the Bahamas.
A source close to the couple says that they’ve been friendly for years. But when Derulo saw Jordin’s new bangin’ bod, he got interested. He fell in love. He saw sparks, if you will. See what I did?
According to the source:
“She lost over 30 pounds and looks amazing -- and he told her. It started there and they have been really reconnecting, now as lovers and not just friends."
The couple had dinner on Sunday to celebrate Derulo’s 22nd birthday and made no attempt to hide their love.
"Jordin would sing to him occasionally through the night in his ear if her head was rested on his shoulder," a witness told Us. "It was Jason's only night in L.A. and the pair were excited to reunite."
Jordin took to Twitter to wish Jason a happy birthday last week. Jason responded: “thx LOVE.”
Jordin then wrote back, asking “Will you get back to the states already?? Lol :P”
I don’t know if that needs an “lol”, but it’s nice.
Earlier this year, Jason shut down rumors that he was involved in a serious relationship.
“I'm just having fun and hanging out. I'm kind of messing around, I'm focused on what I'm doing, but if the right girl came along then that would change things.”
So I guess Jordin’s that girl. Derulo also dished on his idea of a perfect date:
"I always feel like a first date should be dinner. You get the chance to talk and get to know the person. You need that direct eye contact - and you get to have a bite to eat. Or I'd take her to one of my concerts. People think backstage is so amazing, but it's pretty dull."
Derulo’s album, Future History was released today. It consists of a mix between hot, electronic hits and slower, more soulful tunes.
