Jonathan Rhys Meyers was originally born as Jonathan Michael Francis O’Keeffe. He was born in Dublin, Ireland to Geraldine Meyers and musician John O’Keeffe. He has three younger brothers, Jamie, Paul, and Alan. He was born with a serious heart problem, and his surviving was very odd. The first few months of his life were spent in the hospital.At the age of three, his parents separated. Jonathan and his brother Alan were raised by his mother, while their father raised his two other brothers. At age 16 he got expelled from the North Monastery Secondary School, and later spent much time in pool halls. At a Cork pool hall was were Meyers was spotted by casting agents, and was encourage to pursue an acting career. Jonathan Rhys Meyers is currently starring in the Showtime series The Tudors. Who knew that Jonathan Rhys Meyers was out in the world wreaking havoc? I thought he was modeling Versace sunglasses for a living now?
The troubled actor has had issues with alcoholism for many years and in June of 2009 he got into an alcohol fueled rage at the Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport where he punched a waiter and threatened the lives of several police officers and their families and was arrested. Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Lindsay Lohan should meet, they’d probably have a lot in common.

She apparently told him: "Check in to rehab or I'm dumping you." A source added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "She told him to get serious counseling for his drink and anger problems or else she will be taking a hike – out of his life."
Jonathan was banned from boarding a United Airlines flight at John F. Kennedy airport in New York because he was too drunk last week. And it's not the first time he's gotten into trouble at an airport.
Last year, he was arrested at a bar in Paris' Charles de Gaulle airport for reportedly challenging police to a fight. He was also taken into custody in Ireland in November 2007 for drunkenly fighting with airport staff.

An airline employee told RadarOnline.com that Meyers used the word "n****r" when he was told he couldn't board the morning flight to Los Angeles.
Jonathan Rhys Meyers should be banned from drinking at airports. This is not the first time he's been a mess at the airport. Last year, he was arrested at a bar in Paris' Charles de Gaulle airport after he reportedly challenged cops to a fight. It doesn't end there! Back in 2007, he once again got into a fight with airport staff because he was drunk.
Jonathan might wanna consider taking private planes to avoid these kind of conflicts. At that point, he can drink all he wants and no one will say anything.

Jonathan, who has been in and out of rehab and AA, was reportedly "belligerent" and "disruptive" at JFK airport, and was banned from boarding a United Airlines flight.
According to Radaronline, an official from the airport has confirmed he was “pounding drinks” in the first class lounge early one morning this month but became “out of control” and was refused entry.
Jonathan's no stranger to trouble at the airport. Last year, he was arrested at a bar in Paris’ Charles de Gaulle airport for reportedly challenging police to a fight. He was also arrested in Ireland in November 2007 for being out of control drunk, just seven months after checking into rehab for the second time.
Jonathan always has been and always will be a drunken mess. He's confessed in the past that he has no control when he drinks, so this really shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. We just hope he gets the help he desperately needs--and sticks to it.

The Tudors actor, who is fresh out of rehab, is being charged with "willful violence, outrage, hitting and threatening death."
The incident went down at "Le Quotidien" bar in terminal 2F at Charles de Gaulle airport.
He has been ordered to appear in court in a Paris suburb in September to face the charges.
It's not the first time he's gotten drunk and disorderly at an airport. Back in 2007 he was arrested for the same reason at a Dublin airport.
He was charged with two offences under the Public Order Act, but the charges were later dropped. Celebrities can get away with murder and have the charges dropped.

In February, reports swirled that the Tudors star had checked into a facility in England. The buzz began after he had missed several awards ceremonies and TV appearances. But when Meyers showed up at the Soloist premiere in LA last week, he slammed the rumors.
He said, "I just felt I needed time off and I didn't need to go to awards ceremonies. You can get slightly waylaid as an actor doing that sort of thing and I'm never that comfortable at them anyway."
He did admit to seeing a counselor in England, but that was the extent of it. Meyers said, "I live an incredibly low-key life. I think people would like to think I'm a hell of a lot naughtier than I am actually. I am actually quite a boring guy."
As for what’s really occupying Jonathan’s time at the moment, he says, "I spent the last week and a half playing bloody golf. Me, Jonathan Rhys Meyers! If anyone saw me in those stupid golf clothes on the golf course, there would have been a different story written!"
Well, we’re glad to hear it! And we’re happy to see that nothing has gotten in the way of the Tudors, which is now in season 3 if you haven’t tuned in yet!

He’s already been once; doing a quick stint at Promises in Malibu in 2005, but his problems with alcohol just seem to have gotten worse, and he’s checked into a facility in England this time.
The buzz about his drinking problem began earlier this month when Meyers didn’t show up to the IFTAS in Dublin, where The Tudors ended up winning 10 awards.
You’d think he’d want to be there to celebrate, seeing that he’s the star of the show, but many think he may have been suffering from a little hangover because he was seen buying a bottle of vodka in London the day prior. He also missed the Oscar Wilde Awards in LA, which were celebrated right before the Academy Awards.
Unlike many people with drinking problems, his alcoholism seems to have started late in life. Jonathan says, "I didn't start drinking until I was 25. Since then I've been drunk maybe a dozen and a half times. When I do I'm like Bambi. I'm all over the place, hopeless, like a 16-year-old kid. People notice.”
A Tudors insider says, "He is one of the nicest guys in the world, he's a pleasure to work with. He has his demons all right, and he's trying to cope with them as best he can. I couldn't have coped with even 2pc of what's being written about him. He is also great with children. If any kids ever come on the set he's really nice to them. He gets down and talks to them face to face and makes sure they get autographs and whatever they want. He's brilliant that way."
Speaking of the fate of The Tudors, we’ll have to wait even longer for the next season, as it’s not scheduled to begin shooting until June.
Hopefully that gives him enough time to get back on track! He’s such an amazing actor so we’re happy to see him taking care of his personal problems in a professional way. We know he’ll bounce back!

Radha Mitchell says they were out shooting The Children of Huang Sui in rural China, and the restaurants served things you wouldn't see in the states.
She says, "The challenge was ordering lunch and getting chicken claws, just these weird things that you don't expect and you're not used to so you're constantly adjusting. Jonathan did the dog's meat. We were in some restaurant and there was dog meat on the menu and there was someone next to us just sitting there with their Chihuahua in a handbag.
"I was thinking, 'That could've been dessert.'"
So naturally, Peta is pissed! They can't believe he would eat man's best friend! Would you?
