This is bittersweet news, straight from the Jonas Brothers themselves…

After the cancellation of their tour, rumors that the Jonas Brothers as a band were breaking up hit the fan and made their way across celebrity gossip and pop music blogs alike—all of which has culminated in this brotherly powwow on “Good Morning America” where JoBro spoke candidly about why and how they made the decision.

Nick Jonas said the three of them had the first “real conversation” they’ve had since forming the group, stating that they each began to see it more as a burden than something artistically satisfying.

“In a nutshell, I said, ‘Look I feel like we’ve had some complications within the group for a long time without addressing them,” Nick said, about “the concerns and some of the limitations that we may feel as individuals.”

Joe Jonas cited their lack of interest in the music they were making together, saying the sound began to sound “a little stale to us” and that they were disagreeing often about almost everything, from their music videos to other personal opportunities.

Kevin Jonas is taking his career in a new direction towards “the business side of things,” which he called his “first passion.” He’s also expecting his first child with Danielle Deleasa.

A tinge of sadness colored the whole interview—it’s clearly not easy for them to let go of the group that kick-started their respective careers—but it's also apparent that they’re happy with what they’ve decided.

Nick concludes, “We’re best suited to do our own individual things, all things we’re passionate about, and choose to be brothers first.”
