We couldn’t overlook Uggie’s role in The Artist, mostly because he’s so doggone (sorry) cute. Here are a few things you might not know about the Academy’s biggest snub, Uggie the Dog.
He’s a Senior Citizen: Uggie is 10 years old, which is 70 in dog years. He looks great for his age.
He Was Made For Show Business: Uggie’s trainer, Omar Von Muller, says “[Uggie] was just born to be a showman.” I say he hosts the next Academy Awards.

This was an exciting morning for a handful of Hollywood A-listers. From Brad Pitt to Viola Davis to Jonah Hill, lots of stars had a damn good reason to break open a bottle of champagne before noon today. Here’s what our favorite Oscar-nominated stars had to say about their accomplishment:

It's great to see new talent being recognized, but each year's Oscar nominations are always filled with surprises and snubs, and the 84th Annual Academy Awards were no different.
Jonah Hill was the first surprise of the morning, as he nabbed a Best Supporting Actor nomination for Moneyball. I mean, this is the guy who drew dongs in Superbad, and that wasn't that long ago. Good for him.
Rooney Mara was another surprise, nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role for The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
Hollyscoop caught up with the hot star at the Haywire Los Angeles premiere, where he told us that he is "not a funny guy" and should be thanking Jonah Hill for his comedic turn in new movie 21 Jump Street.

Hill revealed that while he was filming a movie in New Orleans, his Moneyball costar, Brad Pitt, told him to crash at his home in the French Quarter.

Matthew McConaughey: That's not smog in Los Angeles, it's weed smoke coming from Matthew McConaughey's house. Matthew was notoriously arrested for possession of marijuana in Austin back in 1999. Neighbors called complaining about the noise, and when police arrived at McConaughey's home, they found him dancing naked playing bongo drums. Must have been some good stuff.

Lea Michele and Dianna Agron: These Glee starlets lived together in the early days of Glee in downtown Los Angeles. They said living together was super easy because they are both vegans. Even though Lea seems like a diva on the show, there was no drama off screen, "We have these smackdowns at work and come home and are like, 'Wasn't it so funny when we were fighting today? Let's make cookies!"
