Remember when Jon Gosselin was a doting father on a good natured TLC show about a woman with a huge uterus? Then flash forward a few years to when Jon was unofficially endorsing Ed Hardy, going to pool parties and acting like some kind of D-List celeb? Well, now he's "normal" again and giving Kate some life advice. Celebs! I can't keep up!

Now that Kate's reality show has been cancelled Jon feels the need to dole out some fatherly advice (where was this help before they divorced?)

Anyways, Jon has some biting words for his ex wife.

"Reality TV is not a career. Get back to a normal life - a simple life. Provide for your family."
One bad reality show down…2,294 more to go. Oh, who am I kidding? I've got Jersey Shore and Teen Mom on my TiVo right now.

However, one person who is happy about Kate Plus 8 getting cancelled is Kate Gosselin's ex, Jon Gosselin.

The reality star-turned-construction worker has revealed that he's "very relieved" the TLC show is off the air because it might give their eight kids a chance at a normal life.

"I hope they can have more private family moments," Jon tells RadarOnline. "I hope that this will bring more privacy to my children and that they can get the proper attention they need for any personal issues they might have in the future."

I guess Kate Plus 8 just isn’t edgy enough for TLC anymore. They’re too busy airing shows about people who eat dishwashing detergent and toilet paper.

A network rep told PEOPLE:

“TLC has decided not to renew another season of Kate Plus 8. By the end of this season Kate Plus 8 will have hit the 150 episode mark (including Jon & Kate Plus 8); an exceptional milestone. TLC hopes to check in with Kate and the family periodically with specials in the future.”

I mean, really. How much more can we know about this family? She’s a single mom with a bunch of kids, we get it. I think it’d be more interesting to see a show about Jon Gosselin. A hated, D-list celebrity who decides to totally let himself go—I’d watch that in a heartbeat.

Kate Gosselin’s ready to play the dating game.

She’s been spending the past few years working on her MILF cred, and she showed up to the Today show on Monday morning looking pretty good, especially for someone who has to deal with eight kids every day. Even Ann Curry commented on it:

“Boy, you look beautiful this morning,” Curry said.

Gosselin also made the announcement that she was “definitely ready to start dating,” but added that there are some obstacles. No kidding. It’s hard enough to date with one kid, much less eight. Hell, it’s hard to date with zero kids.

Check out these photos. No, it’s not an upcoming Jack Black comedy where he plays a wacky construction worker. That’s ex-reality star Jon Gosselin!

TMZ reported that Gosselin is now working for Green Pointe Energy—a Pennsylvania-based renewable energy company.

It’s refreshing to see a celebrity working a blue-collar job without being contracted to do so for a reality series. I don’t know how safe it is to be smoking on the roof, near the leaf-filled gutters, but hey, that’s what construction workers do.

Despite the obvious weight gain, Gosselin actually looks happy in these photos. As if he’s thinking, “hey, I might be forced to do manual labor, but at least I’m away from Kate.”

Jon Gosselin spent years allowing his kids to be on television as a part of Jon and Kate Plus 8. But now that the show and his marriage are both over, he feels regret about exploiting his children.

Jon took to his Twitter to air out his feelings about his kids’ lives being taped, and what he’s been doing to try and put an end to it. Just last week, a judge turned down his request to get his children off of Kate’s new show.

Kate Gosselin: The Kids Hate Being at Jon's

He wrote on Twitter:

"On October 13, 2010, I went to court to act in the best interest of my children- to remove them from television. The judge respectfully denied my plea, and granted filming rights to their mother. I honor the judge’s decision, but I do not support it. I will not stop fighting to remove my children from television. It is not a child’s job to support themselves, or a lifestyle, they need to be kids.

“I would like to apologize to my friends, family, and especially my children for not taking a stand earlier in my life and not questioning my decisions to have our lives documented and displayed. I will have to answer to my children for the rest of my life. I will have to live with this guilt the rest of my life. I am truly sorry!"

He continued:

Jon Gosselin Writing Book of Douchery

"As you may or may not be aware, I have been working for some time to remove my children from television. I do not believe being on TV is beneficial to any of them. They are no longer toddlers that are oblivious to what is going on around them. They are now six and ten, in school and desperately in need of a normal life.

"Each of them has experienced negative effects of having their lives so public. Some are struggling with emotional and/or behavioral issues. My goal for my children is for them to have a normal childhood, and gain back their much deserved privacy. This is not about money, this is about my children. No amount of money is worth the price my children are paying. You cannot put a price on childhood. Money comes and goes, but you only have one childhood.”

Speaking of money, Jon went on to say:

"For those questions about money and support, I can say I am supporting my children to the best of my ability. All parties involved know the truth about this. I am and have been actively seeking employment. I have been barred from accepting entertainment deals that would generate income for my family due to contractual obligations.

“I am also actively looking for a job outside of the entertainment industry and so far, have not secured a position. In the mean time, I have been focusing on spending time with my children and providing a safe, stable, normal and private environment for them!”

We think it’ll take a long time and a lot of therapy for anyone in that family to lead a “normal” life again! But we do hope Jon is sincere and is really trying to step down from the public eye once and for all. We know we’re ready for him to go away forever!

Guess we're not the only ones who can't stand Jon Gosselin--his kids are totally over him too.

Kate Gosselin was a special guest on Live with Regis and Kelly where she confessed their eight kids pretty much hate being over at Dads apartment.

She said every time they get dropped off at Jon's apartment she "basically wait[s] for the phone call from how many of them want to come home."

Jon's residence, she explained, "is not [their] home; it doesn't feel like home to them ... they want to be at home -- in their house" in Wernersville, Penn.

They've been divorced for a while now, but the tension is still very much there. "It's...you know," she said. "I do try to keep it as peaceful as possible." The level of tension "depends on the day."

We don't blame the kids for not wanting to be there. Who would wanna hang out with Jon in a small apartment all day?

Just what we need…another washed-up reality star writing a book about his failures. Jon Gosselin is reportedly writing a book about the lessons he’s learned as father of eight kids.

A friend of Gosselin tells Popeater, "Jon is still deciding what exactly the book will be about, but knows he wants to focus on his parenting skills. There is no deal yet or timeline, but the [interest] in Jon from publishers is huge right now, so he's going to strike while the iron is hot."

Jon has teamed up with leadership coach Dr. Sylvia Lafar, who has been helping him with the recent changes in his life. A source says the reality show dad is motivated to write the book because of his kids.

"Expect the book to include Jon's journey from high school to father of sextuplets by age 27," an insider says. "What the book won't be focusing on is how quickly he moved on, after Kate, with two much younger girlfriends, his partying nights in Las Vegas or his new huge tattoo that covers his entire back."

But that’s the only part that’s interesting! No one wants another parenting self-help book, especially from Mr. Ed Hardy himself. If he wants to make money on this thing, he’ll make the story about how he turned into one of the most hated pseudo celebs of 2010
Jon Gosselin really screwed up his life. He thought he was going to be this hot shot superstar once he left his wife Kate Gosselin, but things didn't quiet work out that way. He basically shot himself in the foot and now he's trying to do anything to be relevant again.

The latest from Jon is that he has teamed up with life coach, Sylvia Lafair to pen a book on his journey from being a nobody to a reality TV dad (and to a nobody again).

Kate Gosselin: Spiky & Cranky Vs. Tanorexic & Botoxed

“The book is about having eight kids all at once when he was under the age of 30,” Lafair tells Radaronline.

She adds, “It includes some of the lessons that Jon has been learning with helpful hints on how he is working to reframe his relationship with his family including his two brothers and his mother.

“He wants to find a way to speak for his generation in terms of getting married, divorced and raising kids and finding a better way to live his life.”

Jon started working with Lafair about a year ago, but really got serious about 5 months ago when he realized he might soon need to find a 9-5 job.

Kate Gosselin doesn’t waste any time between reality shows! The mom of eight just got kicked off Dancing with the Stars last week and is already moving on to her next project.

Her next foray into TV is a reality show about her life after Jon. The big question was whether the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry would allow the children to be on the show.

DWTS Finally Gives Kate Gosselin the Boot

Last week, Kate’s brother and sister-in-law made a huge stink about the kids appearing on the show, saying it was borderline child abuse. But the state officials decided today that the kids would be permitted to be on the new show, entitled Kate Plus 8, alongside their mother. There’s one stipulation—they must get child labor permits this time, something they didn’t have on Jon & Kate Plus 8.

The kids are probably rolling their eyes that they have to continue to be on camera. They could probably use a little privacy in their lives!

Do you think Kate is doing her kids a disservice by having them be on another reality show? Or is she just trying to pay the bills and provide for them?
