Johnny Depp Finally Proposes

Talk about an overdue engagement! According to reports, Johnny Depp has finally popped the question to his long-term girlfriend Vanessa Paradis.

We hear their seven-year-old daughter Lily-Rose’s terrifying illness inspired the proposal. Thankfully, Lily-Rose is back to full health, and Depp wants to make his relationship with Paradis official.

Depp plans to wed his girlfriend of eight years this summer in the small French village of Plan de la Tour, near St Tropez, according to media reports.

A source from their village in France said that the couple has one of "the strongest relationships in Hollywood but after their daughter was taken ill the family became an even closer-knit unit."

All I can say is, Yea, Johnny! Of course, all the other women in the world will be in excruciating depression as the very last shred of hope of Johnny being free is cut, but he loves Van, and they deserve to have a united, committed, legal family. I know Johnny has said many times as far as he's concerned, they've been committed and married without the legality, but the kids will appreciate the stability of legally married parents. As far as Shannon's comments on the unattractiveness of Van, I think that woman must be either mentally challenged or suffering from vision disorders. Vanessa Paradis is one of France's most beautiful, popular and desirable women; and known the world over. Johnny has good taste always. I love you, Johnny, and would give my eyeteeth to trade places with Van, but I love your family too much to ever wish any of you other than a happy life together with NO more scares like you've gone through with Lily. So glad she's well, now.

Johnny and Vanessa obviously are very much in love and committed to one another. What is a piece of paper? He has already said he feels married to her. I think she is lovely--VERY French. And HE IS GORGEOUS! I wish them the best.

I too love Johnny but I do not want to marry him or take him away from his family!!! All the best Johnny, but I really think that after your daughter's scary illness would this not be the perfect time to quite acting and concentrate on your family???? What would you do if while you were away doing a movie, something happened to her again? More serious? You really DON"T need the money, you NEED your family!!!!!! But he'll never read this will he?
